Home, resting, and officially on the road to recovery. ❤️ Monday’s “sinus surgery” was actually six different procedures performed in one operation, and then I had my second surgery just three days later. Recovery has been pretty brutal. It honestly feels like a school bus and an 18-wheeler had a demolition derby on my face… and somehow recruited some friends to have one in my stomach too. 😅 For now, my job is simple: lots of rest, lots of ice cream, and giving my body the time it needs to heal. Recovery looks a little different this week. Monday I had image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery, including: • Bilateral maxillary antrostomies • Bilateral total ethmoidectomies • Bilateral sphenoidotomies • Septoplasty • Bilateral inferior turbinate reduction • Bilateral nasal valve stenosis repair with grafts This wasn’t “just sinus surgery.” My surgeon spent over three hours operating to improve airflow, correct structural issues, and open multiple sinus cavities that had become chronically diseased and blocked. Some of the work was performed just millimeters from my eyes and the base of my skull using image-guided navigation to ensure precision. It was a much bigger operation than many people realize, and recovery is going to take some patience. Recovery has meant sleeping upright, ice packs, pain medication, saline rinses, and giving my body permission to do what it does best—heal. As someone who loves lifting heavy things and pushing my body, being forced to slow down is its own challenge. But healing is part of the process too. Last week of training before surgery. 💪 I’ve spent years training to be strong, but this week that strength looks a little different. Today starts two surgeries in one week. Instead of chasing heavier weights or bigger PRs, my goal is to walk into both surgeries with courage, trust my body to heal, and give recovery everything I’ve got. The gym will be there when I’m cleared to come back. Until then, I’ll be (very) impatiently counting down the days until I can chalk my hands, get back under the bar, and do what I love most.
